Shiba Inu Lead Says Shibarium Can Process 200 TPS, Much More Than Ethereum
Shiba Inu developers Shytoshi Kusama and Kaal Dhairya reveal Shibarium’s scalability prowess, saying the network can process up to 200 transactions per second, but its capacity is way higher.
Top Shiba Inu developers Shytoshi Kusama and Kaal Dhairya have highlighted the scalability prowess of Shibarium, the cryptocurrency’s L2 scaling solution, regarding processing speed.
Difference Between Shibarium and Ethereum
For context, Shiba Inu community members took to X yesterday to point out the differences between Ethereum and Shibarium.
Yesterday, an X user named Clifford claimed that Ethereum’s transaction fee stood at $31.62 compared to the $0.043 Shibarium users must pay for each transaction. While Ethereum’s fee is lower than the presented value, at $1.33, it is still much higher than Shibarium’s.
Current transaction fees between ETH & Shibarium not even close. Wow 🤩
ETH – $31.62#Shibarium – $0.043

Another enthusiast pointed out that Shibarium is economical and more scalable than Ethereum. The user argued that while the Ethereum network handles 13 – 14 transactions per second, Shibarium processes 5x more within the same timeframe.
And also ETH is handling 13-14 transactions per second and #Shibarium is probably handling 5 times more per second.

Shibarium Processes 200 Transactions Per Second
Interestingly, Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama weighed into the discussion. Kusama emphasized that Shibarium processes up to 200 transactions per second.
Actually, it is approximately (up to) 200 per second to be exact.

Dhairya corroborated Kusama’s claim, emphasizing that Shibarium is currently processing up to 200 transactions per second due to the current block limit for certain transactions.
However, he noted that Shibarium’s capacity is way higher than only 200 transactions per second. He said that the team will increase Shibarium processing speed to enable the network to handle more transactions in the next hard fork.
Actually it’s 200/ sec as per the current block limit for certain type of transactions, capacity is way higher and it will be increased with the increase in block capacity in the next hard fork

As reported earlier, Shibarium completed its first hard fork at a block height of 1,962,000. The upgrade was part of an effort to enhance Shibarium’s token-burning mechanism, among other provisions.
While it is unclear when the next Shibarium hard fork will occur, Dhairya has provided an insight into the feature the upcoming upgrade will introduce – increased processing speed.
Shibarium Transaction Skyrocket
Kusama and Dhairya’s claim is reflected in the recent milestone Shibarium recorded last week. The Crypto Basic reported that Shibarium achieved a jaw-dropping feat on November 30, as 952 transactions were processed in a five-second block.
It is imperative to bolster Shibarium’s processing speed, given the massive spike in the network’s transaction volume. Shibarium’s total transactions have skyrocketed to a whopping 58.33 million. On November 24, the L2 scaling solution had processed only 4.1 million transactions.
At press time, Shibarium’s total transaction count now stood at 58,335,928 (58.33 million). This suggests the network has processed more than 54 million transactions in just two weeks.
Furthermore, Shibarium has processed over 7 million transactions daily since December 2, 2023. According to data from Shibariumscan, the network recorded a daily transaction of 7.69 million yesterday.
