General Updates
Neo Global Development released the general monthly report for Nov. 2023, which noted the NeoEVM sidechain naming campaign, GAS listing on the Demex Exchange perpetual market, and more.
MELK DAO delivered a NEO Trail on MelkBot, its learn-to-earn education bot, following GrantShares funding approval in June 2023. The tool offers a hands-on approach to understanding blockchain and cryptocurrencies, rewarding users with MELK tokens for completing tasks and introducing them to digital assets without monetary investment. In addition to the NEO Trail, MELK DAO also provides educational trails for Polygon and Solana. The team was awarded 6,670 GAS, valued at approximately US $15,000 at the time, with four GrantShares members voting in favor of the proposal.
Neo will participate in BitLand, a metaverse built within the Bitcoin ecosystem, bringing Neo brand advertising into BitLand City virtual maps.
COZ CEO Tyler Adams shared his insights on Bitcoin ETFs for an article published by Cointelegraph, noting that regulatory challenges still persist in spite of the ETF approval.
Meme2Earn and Flamingo each launched Zealy community campaigns, where users can perform social media tasks, earn points, and potentially win rewards from pools of $1,000 for the Flamingo and $420 for the Meme2Earn campaigns.
Flamingo released statistics on the FLUND single-sided staking pool for Week 1 of 2024, noting a total value of approximately US $8.1 million, total minting rewards of $3.33 million, and total trading fee rewards of $631,000.
The latest Neo Trivia Gleam competition is open and will run until Jan. 18. Participants can win 1 of 10 GAS tokens by answering 10/10 multiple-choice questions correctly. If the contest has over 100 unique entrants, GAS will be added to the following week’s prize pool.
Developer Updates
AxLabs launched 1ClickNode, a node setup service designed to simplify the deployment of Web3 infrastructure. This service is tailored for developers looking to leverage cloud providers for their blockchain projects. On release, 1ClickNode caters to Neo N3 MainNet and TestNet users. The team plans to expand to more nodes across different Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks.
NNT Catch Up
NNT published an article about magipop, a DAO formed around the concept of community co-creation, that clinched the grand prize victory in the AI, Social & DAO category of the recent Neo APAC Hackathon. The magipop team is driven to be on the leading edge of the “Passion Economy,” an emerging marketplace centered on creators who are motivated by love for their craft rather than the pursuit of fame or financial gain. Some estimates project that the Passion Economy will be responsible for up to 85% of new job creation by 2030.
NNT’s editors co-hosted a Smart Economy Podcast X Spaces to talk about the Bitcoin ETF, hopes for the Neo X EVM sidechain to attract developers, secure bridges, and bringing liquidity to the Neo ecosystem.
NeoSPCC released version 0.105.0 of NeoGo, bringing an array of developer-focused updates and bug fixes. This update focuses on improving the RPC infrastructure and the command-line interface utility, including the introduction of a new mechanism for awaiting transaction responses.
