XRP $37,500 Buyback Proposal Trigger Clash Between Fox Journalist and Valhil Capital MD

In a recent exchange, Fox Business journalist Eleanor Terrett and Jimmy Vallee, the Managing Director of Valhil Capital, found themselves embroiled in a clash over a past XRP buyback proposal.

The controversy revolves around a report Vallee pitched to Terrett two years ago, suggesting that the Federal Reserve could buy back XRP at an astonishing $37,500 per token.

XRP $37,500 Buyback Proposal

It bears mentioning that Vallee previously proposed that XRP could grow to become the world reserve currency, contending that such a position would help the crypto asset displace the traditional financial system, prompting demand from major institutions.

According to the proposal, this demand could eventually result in a series of buybacks from these major institutions, including the U.S. Federal Reserve. Vallee noted that he expects the Federal Reserve to buy back XRP at $37,500, pitching the idea to Terrett in her early days in the community.

The recent heated exchange began when Vallee drew attention to Terrett’s previous post highlighting the buyback proposal two years ago.

An XRP community member chimed in, reminding Vallee that Terrett had reported on the proposal generously but later mocked the idea, as did other credible community members who found it unrealistic.

Terrett responded, acknowledging that she was relatively new to the crypto and XRP community at the time Vallee presented the buyback proposal. She claimed that Vallee took advantage of her lack of knowledge, characterizing the pitch as a mere publicity stunt.

Correct. He took advantage of the fact that I was very new to both crypto and XRP and didn’t yet have the knowledge to see the pitch for what it really was: a publicity stunt.

Allegations Around ETHGate

However, Vallee didn’t shy away from firing back. He described Terrett’s post about the buyback proposal as the most courageous thing she had ever done, claiming that she and others at Fox Business had built their careers by riding the coattails of the XRP community for years.

Oh Ellie. The most courageous thing you’ve ever done in your life was to send out that Tweet.

Frankly, you’ve made an entire career off of it.

Vallee claimed that Terrett and her colleagues were propelled forward by the community’s support. He further accused Terrett, Charles Gasparino, another Fox Business journalist, and the entire network of not reporting on what he referred to as “ETHGate.”

This theory from the community alleges corruption within the Ethereum project, and Vallee insists that detailed information was shared with Terrett and other mainstream media (MSM) colleagues.

Interestingly, Steven Neyaroff, a former Ethereum advisor, recently surfaced with allegations around ETHGate, claiming that the Ethereum founders sabotaged crypto and alleging corruption surrounding the ETH ICO. The XRP community has longed to see Neyaroff present his claims on Fox Business, but this has not happened.

Terrett responded to Vallee, questioning the authenticity of his claims. She questioned the idea that her colleagues and some members of the community had attacked her for reporting on the buyback proposal. When asked about ETHGate, Terrett noted that she would provide an update later.
