Ripple CEO Taunts “Everyone Who Doubted” as Pro-Crypto Candidates Emerge Winners in US Elections

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has hit back at skeptics after pro-crypto candidates emerged as winners in the ongoing US elections.

The notable crypto industry leader didn’t hold back in his latest tweet after crypto-friendly candidates secured victory in the US elections. In an X update today, Garlinghouse taunted critics who doubted the election of pro-crypto candidates, noting that “the crypto voter is here to stay.”

Notably, the November 5 elections were seen as the first crypto election, following the involvement of GOP candidate Donald Trump and other candidates in the US House and Senate. Trump and other candidates actively supported the nascent industry, drawing backing from the crypto community and skepticism from anti-crypto entities.

Garlinghouse Congratulates Crypto Champions

In the tweet, the Ripple boss expressed excitement over the triumph of “crypto champions” who won their election and reelection bids in their different jurisdictions. He mentioned a few of them in the tweet, including Bernie Moreno, Ritchie Torres, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Andy Barr.

Notably, Moreno is a first-time Republican candidate but trumped incumbent Sherrod Brown to win Ohio. In New York, incumbent Senator Torres, who questioned SEC boss Gary Gensler’s non-fungible token securities classification, recorded a landslide victory.

Republican and Democratic pro-crypto incumbents Barr and Gillibrand also secured reelections in the US House and Senate. The former represents the Kentucky district, while the latter is a senator in New York.

Ultimately, Trump currently secures a decisive lead over the current vice president, Kamala Harris.

Meanwhile, data shows that 238 pro-crypto candidates lead in the ongoing election. About 224 US House representatives and 14 senators who are supportive of crypto are leading proceedings in the polls, with some already declared winners.

Crypto Market Reacts

The crypto market has reacted positively to the victories of pro-crypto candidates in the US elections. For context, Bitcoin surged past its previous highs to attain a new all-time high above $75,000.

Major crypto assets also made moves following extensive gains. Solana, for example, flipped Binance Coin (BNB) to become the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market cap after surging over 12% in the past 24 hours to trade above $182.

Meme coin Dogecoin also temporarily surpassed XRP to claim the 7th slot but returned to 8th after XRP picked up bullish momentum. The leading meme coin has surged 13.63% in the past day and has a market cap of $28 billion.
