5 Altcoins Experience Unusual Volume Spike on South Korean Exchanges

Unusual trading volumes were detected in several altcoins on Upbit, South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. The altcoins in question include NEM (XEM), Siacoin (SC), Metal DAO (MTL), Lisk (LSK) and Hive (HIVE).

The 4-hour trading volume for NEM (XEM) on Upbit has increased significantly, with the last recorded volume at $30 million, a massive 108.13% increase from the 50 average 4-hour volume of $14 million. On Binance, the increase was more modest, with an increase of 33.08% from an average volume of $7 million to the last recorded volume of $10 million.

Siacoin (SC) also experienced an increase in trading volume on the 1-hour chart on Upbit. The last recorded volume was $194 million, representing a staggering increase of 189.74% compared to the average 50 1-hour volume of $67 million.

In Binance, the increase was 25.34% and the last recorded volume increased from the average volume of 10 million dollars to 13 million dollars.

Metal DAO (MTL) has seen a significant increase in 4-hour trading volume on Upbit, with the last recorded volume of $3 million, up 124.41% from the average 50 4-hour volume of $1 million. On Binance, the increase was more modest at 17.93%, with the last recorded volume rising from the average volume of $450 thousand to $531 thousand.

Lisk (LSK) has experienced a surge in 1-hour trading volume on Upbit, with the last recorded volume of $544K representing a significant increase of 153.90% compared to the average 50 1-Hour volume of $214K. On Binance, the increase was more moderate at 33.45%, with the last recorded volume increasing from an average of 37 thousand dollars to 49 thousand dollars.

Finally, Hive (HIVE) showed an impressive increase in 4-hour trading volume on Upbit, with the last recorded volume of $9 million representing a massive 281.46% increase over the average 50 4-hour volume of $2 million. On Binance, the increase was more moderate at 38.74%, with the last recorded volume rising from the average volume of $422 thousand to $586 thousand.
