Altcoin, Binance’s Launchpool Project, was Hacked! FBI Stepped In!
The altcoin named NFPrompt (NFP), which is the Launchpool project of the Bitcoin exchange Binance, announced that it was attacked by a hack.
According to the statement, hackers attacked some wallets and took control of the funds without permission.
Stating that the FBI also intervened in the hacking incident, the NFPrompt team said that the FBI tracked down the hackers and major CEXs were informed to freeze the funds related to the hackers.
“Attention NFP Owners!
We are writing to inform you about a critical security incident involving NFPrompt. It was discovered that a group of hackers had compromised some wallets, including those of NFP’s contract administrators.
They illegally seized control of victims’ funds, including part of the NFP treasury and ecosystem fund.
We have effectively disrupted the attack vector. NFPs and assets of users on our platform are SAFU.
The FBI stepped in to help us catch the hackers and warned the major CEXs to freeze all funds associated with the hackers.
Please do not accept NFPs from untrusted sources until our further notice of this incident. We are committed to protecting the interests of NFP holders and supporters. NFP Tokens linked to hackers will be flagged and lost.
“We strongly recommend that you only purchase and trade NFPs on reputable CEXs during the current investigation period.”
