Bitget Wallet Announces ARC-20 Inscription and Lightning Network Integration

BRC-20 tokens’s popularity has played a crucial role in the recent Bitcoin bull run. The first exchanges, such as Bitget and OKX, that jumped on that train with listings of several BRC-20 tokens in late 2023, have created huge liquidity.

Bitget was one of the first exchanges to offer features like asset display, transfers, and market trends for BRC-20 through its Web3 wallet — Bitget Wallet. Its latest announcement about the support of ARC-20 inscriptions and the Bitcoin Lightning Network Integration opens up new opportunities for the BTC ecosystem users.

Following through with their previous statement of development plans to further support the BTC ecosystem, the wallet’s latest app version now supports ARC-20 inscriptions, enabling users to easily inscribe anytime, anywhere, getting ahead of most ARC-20 inscription products that are still primarily designed for PC use.

Bitget Wallet has also maintained its focus and support on Bitcoin Layer 2 solutions. According to the upgrade announcement, users can now create Bitcoin Lightning Network accounts, generating email-style addresses as Lightning Network identities. Users can transfer and receive SATs on the Lightning Network via LNURL or invoice.

Due to the resurgence of the Lightning Network and Bitcoin ecosystem assets like inscriptions, the debate over Bitcoin Layer 2 has resurfaced. There are a lot of new L2 projects coming out that are trying to improve liquidity and promote creativity and growth in the Bitcoin community.

Alvin Kan, Chief Operating Officer of Bitget Wallet, emphasized the promising potential of the Lightning Network, positioning it as a pivotal solution to scalability challenges and a catalyst for future growth and innovation within the Bitcoin ecosystem.

“The team places considerable emphasis on the Bitcoin ecosystem, with Bitget Wallet striving to bridge existing gaps in wallet support, positioning itself as a pivotal contributor to ecosystem development,” states Kan, “The current state of the wallet market infrastructure is still evolving and lacks comprehensive coverage, presenting a clear opportunity that we recognize. “

So far, Bitget Wallet has been delivering on the promise of more BTC-supportive product functionalities, including Bitcoin asset management, Swap transactions, OTC, inscription asset market trends, inscription, Lightning Network integration, and support for Bitcoin Layer 2.

With the impending BTC halving around the corner, we can be sure to witness more and more exchanges pouring their resources into Bitcoin’s ecosystem support but as the saying goes — first come, first served.
