Com2uS Brings ‘Walking Dead’ and ‘Summoner’s War’ Games to Oasys Network
Com2uS Group, a prominent South Korean game publisher, has officially entered the Oasys crypto gaming ecosystem by launching its own layer-2 chain called XPLA Verse, along with a pair of prominent titles in major franchises.
XPLA Verse is now the home of Summoners War: Chronicles, an action role-playing game spun off from the popular game Summoners War: Sky Arena, which has over 220 million downloads. It also now hosts The Walking Dead: All-Stars, based on the zombie comic book series.
Com2uS, which is well known for its mobile gaming presence in South Korea, has been accelerating its Web3 strategy and participated in the Oasys ecosystem as an initial validator last year. In February, the firm announced plans to bring its existing XPLA crypto gaming ecosystem over to Oasys, starting with these two major games.
“Com2uS and XPLA aim to leverage Oasys’ deep knowledge of Japan’s regulatory framework to strengthen their market presence and onboard more East Asian users,” reads an official announcement.
Oasys has courted a number of major video game publishers and developers, including Ubisoft, which is building its first original blockchain game—called Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles—on the network for release later this year. Sega has also brought its IP to the network, while Bandai Namco launched an experimental AI-driven game last year.
