Does the Threat of Lawsuit Continue in Ripple? “Big risk!”
XRP, which achieved an important victory against the SEC in July 2023, experienced a tremendous rise.
While the final decision has not been made in the SEC-Ripple case, investors and the market continue to be curious about what the final decision will be.
At this point, crypto expert and famous Youtuber Zach Rector said in his latest video that Ripple may face a huge fine of $ 3 billion as a result of the lawsuit.
The famous Youtuber claimed that Ripple could pay a fine of more than $ 3 billion to the SEC if Judge Torres decides that XRP sales made through the ODL channel are securities.
Because Zach Rector, Judge Torres did not accept individual sales in XRP as securities and stated that he reduced the amount of XRP with security potential to approximately 770 million dollars.
At this point, the expert said that Ripple may be in a difficult situation if the judge overseeing the case, Torres, decides that sales of XRP through the ODL channel should be subject to the investment contract.
The expert also claimed that in case of a fine decision against Ripple, Ripple could appeal and extend the litigation process.
However, the SEC claimed that Ripple had sold $3 billion worth of XRP since the case began, and that it had also sold $1.3 billion worth of XRP unregistered since 2013.
