Dogecoin Founder Mocks ‘Crypto is Dead’ Sentiment, Elon Musk Reacts
Dogecoin founder took to X to deride crypto skeptics as the market experienced a significant capital loss, sparking Elon Musk’s comment.
Following almost two months of consistent growth, Bitcoin experienced a significant price correction, causing a ripple effect in the cryptocurrency industry as many traders witnessed substantial liquidations.
Specifically, Bitcoin has witnessed a sharp decline from $44,034 to $41,649 within six hours in the past 24 hours. The Bitcoin sharp deep significantly impacted the crypto market, with investors in projects like Ethereum, XRP, Solana, and Cardano shouldering nearly double-digit percentage losses.
Amid this turnout, Dogecoin founder Billy Markus, known by the pseudonym “Shibetoshi Nakamoto” on X, seized the opportunity to mock Bitcoin detractors with sarcastic remarks.
Markus tweeted, “Oh no! Crypto died. Everything is dead blah blah blah,” prompting a variety of witty responses.
One commenter playfully imitated the anticipated news headlines reporting the market crash, stating, “Another blow to the world of cryptocurrency – everything is in ruins. What’s next?”

Responding to Elon Musk, Markus highlighted statistics to buttress the number of times crypto skeptics have dismissed Bitcoin as worthless and predicted its imminent decline to zero amid times when the market took big deep.
Per the dedicated tracking site, Bitcoin has had 474 obituaries. So far this year, the tracking portal indicated Bitcoin got the dead narrative only seven times compared to 27 times in 2022.
Meanwhile, four days ago, Elon Musk similarly reacted to the Dogecoin founder’s post criticizing U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren. In the post, Billy Markus slammed Senator Warren for calling crypto a threat because criminal entities sometimes leverage it for transactions.
Markus argued the senator was being hypocritical and out of touch with the people’s yearning. In response, Elon Musk remarked, “True.”
