Ex Ripple Director Gives Timeline for XRP ETF and Ripple IPO
A former director at Ripple has issued a timeline for when the crypto community can expect an XRP exchange-traded fund (ETF) and Ripple’s initial public offer (IPO).
Speculated Date for XRP ETF
Sean McBride, formerly Ripple’s Director of Global Talent Acquisition, has taken to X to issue dates for the two most highly expected developments in the XRP community: an XRP spot ETF and the Ripple IPO.
McBride argued that the community would see the emergence of a genuine XRP ETF either this year or in 2025. However, he specified no factors that may have formed the foundation of his timeline.
You will see a #XRP #ETF in 2024 or 2025. You will also see a #Ripple #IPO outside the US in 2025.

Speculations regarding the potential arrival of an XRP ETF have emerged over the past few months. They gained traction following the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs by the U.S. SEC.
Notably, exchange-traded funds for Ethereum are in the limelight. The case for XRP stems from its unique regulatory status in the United States. Yet, no prominent asset manager has taken steps to establish an XRP ETF in the United States despite repeated calls.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse affirmed the possibility of an XRP ETF coming to fruition. Yet, Garlinghouse expressed caution about setting a timeline.
“I think we will see other ETFs. [But] when we will see them is hard to predict,” he remarked, citing that it even took a court verdict to get the U.S. securities regulator’s assent to Bitcoin spot ETFs.
Date for Ripple IPO
Meanwhile, Sean McBride has speculated that the community can expect Ripple’s initial public offering in 2025. Interestingly, McBride noted that Ripple could carry out the IPO outside the United States.
As previously reported by The Crypto Basic, Ripple acknowledged exploring overseas jurisdictions for potential listing as a public company.
However, the firm has temporarily postponed its IPO plans since going public is not an immediate priority, especially given its substantial cash reserves.
Notably, Wall Street financial analyst Linda Jones expressed a viewpoint similar to that of the former Ripple director, suggesting that a 2025 IPO for Ripple is feasible.
