Former Sodastream CEO Offers $100K in Bitcoin for the Safe Return of Israeli Hostages

In the midst of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently made headlines by offering a form of immunity to Hamas fighters as part of his latest statements concerning the hostage crisis. Following Netanyahu’s statements, former Sodastream CEO Daniel Birnbaum upped the ante by pledging a $100,000 reward for the return of a live Israeli hostage. He’s open to paying the amount in cash or bitcoin, highlighting his willingness to leverage modern options in this urgent situation.

Netanyahu’s Immunity Proposal Gets a Boost from Former Sodastream CEO

In a speech delivered on Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Hamas fighters who choose to “put down their weapons and leave our hostages” will be granted immunity. This statement came on the heels of reports that Israeli forces had killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. Some family members of the hostages have interpreted this offer as a more genuine shift in Netanyahu’s approach compared to his previous comments. On top of that, former Sodastream CEO Daniel Birnbaum is adding to the deal.

Birnbaum says the reward of $100,000 will be paid in cash or by bitcoin.

Birnbaum appeared in a video this week that’s currently going viral on social media platforms like Facebook and X, stating that he will offer a financial reward for the release of live hostages. He mentioned Netanyahu’s offer and stated, “I would like to add to that a financial reward—Anyone who delivers from Gaza a living Israeli prisoner will receive $100,000. That would be paid by cash or by bitcoin, as you prefer” Birnbaum added:

Don’t wait—This offer is valid until Wednesday at midnight Oct. 24. Just a few days.

The former Sodastream executive gave a number that people can contact via Telegram or Whatsapp and said the messages will be “in confidence.” He also said that he would make the appropriate connections to offer them a free pass and provide them with the reward money. “So don’t wait, it is time for you to take control of your life and build a future for yourself, for your family, and for your community.”

The situation involving Netanyahu’s offer and Birnbaum’s financial pledge highlights a strategic shift amid the ongoing crisis. This blend of diplomatic immunity and private incentives indicates a multifaceted approach to resolving the hostage standoff. As time-sensitive rewards and high-stakes negotiations unfold, this unprecedented combination of tactics aims to create actionable opportunities amid escalating tensions.
