General Updates
Neo unveiled the first eight participants in the Web3.0 Global Acceleration Program. The initiative is a collaboration with Web3Labs, a gateway for Web3 startups in Hong Kong, which seeks to support industry growth by funding innovative projects. The program includes a 5-day Seoul Acceleration Tour and a 3-day Hong Kong Elite Mentorship Program, together offering participants insights into the latest industry trends and access to guidance from industry leaders. Projects will each receive a starting fund of US $20,000, with the potential for up to $100,000 in follow-up investments.
Neo X was featured in a Coin Telegraph article, highlighting the forthcoming EVM-compatible side-chain’s anti-maximal extractable value solution. Neo X will leverage its unique delegated Byzantine fault tolerance consensus mechanism and enveloped transactions to eliminate toxic MEV.
Neo founder Da Hongfei published a Medium article offering an overview of how the team intends to combat MEV through new features being built into the Neo X side-chain.
Neo teamed up with Meme2Earn to kick off the Neo X Vs. Toxic MEV meme contest. This initiative invites meme creators to showcase their talent by creating memes centered around Neo’s MEV resistance mechanism. A prize pool of $500 in TIPS tokens is available and the competition opened on Feb. 28.
Neo concluded the prize giveaway for the Lunar New Year Fortune Envelope NFT campaign, where the winning users received 1.5 GAS for participating. To qualify for the prize draw, participants were required to claim and send at least one Neo Fortune Envelope NFT within the campaign period. At the conclusion of the contest period, participants must have also had at least one NeoNS domain in the same wallet used for claiming and sending the NFTs.
The Smart Economy Podcast, ITEM Systems, DENVER WALLS, and Neo co-hosted a side event for ETHDenver, which leveraged the non-fungible item plaques that were installed last September. By scanning two of the plaques, verified and conducted on the Neo blockchain, attendees could claim a free beverage at a local brewery.
COZ CEO and ITEM Systems co-founder Tyler Adams participated in a Coinbase-sponsored panel at ETHDenver 2024 entitled Stand With Crypto: Founders Uniting for Policy Progress to talk about experiences advocating for sensible blockchain policy in Washington, D.C., in December 2023.
Pixudi launched season two of the board racing game’s campaign, entitled Enigma of Lost Ships, which allows users to purchase new packs of NFT cards and collect up to 150 new characters and other items.
Flamingo shared statistics on the top tokens by volume for Week 8 of 2024, which included FLM with approximately $4.03 million, bNEO with $3.72 million, and fUSDT with $2.02 million.
Developer Updates
Neo SPCC shared its progress report for December 2023 and January 2024. The video presentation by CTO Roman Khimov highlights key improvements made to NeoFS and NeoGo, as well as contributions made by the team to Neo X.
