Permianchain and Vertical Data Team Up to Bring GPU-as-a-Service to MENA
Permianchain, a subsidiary of UAE investment firm Hodler Investments, partnered with Vertical Data to offer modular and portable data center solutions using Vertical Data’s GPU-as-a-service technology.
Bringing High-Performance AI to the Data
Permianchain, a subsidiary of UAE-based investment firm Hodler Investments, has partnered with Vertical Data to advance modular and portable data center solutions through the latter’s GPU-as-a-service. The GPU-as-a-service or “solution in a box” enables faster, more secure, and highly efficient artificial intelligence (AI)-driven computing.
According to a statement, this solution will be offered in the UAE and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The objective is to bring high-performance, low-latency AI processing closer to where critical data is produced. This, in turn, reduces latency and enhances real-time decision-making capabilities.
Hamid Djam, head of technology at Vertical Data, said:
Partnering with Hodler Investments is in line with our mission to offer our solutions in the Middle East region and in UAE in particular, especially given the investments UAE, KSA and other countries are making in AI datacenters. Our solutions will ensure faster processing and improved efficiencies, while Hodler will ensure powering these hosting and datacenters with sustainable mobile power.
Hodler Investment’s partnership with Vertical Data is the firm’s second collaboration announcement since unveiling plans for a $500 million digital energy infrastructure fund. The fund has reportedly secured soft commitments from lead investors and in-kind contributions.
As reported by Bitcoin.com News in early November, Hodler Investment partnered with Chinese firm Golden Concord Group to provide energy infrastructure for monetizing Ethiopia’s underutilized electricity.
Mohamed El Masri, managing director of Hodler Investments, said the collaboration with Vertical Data further demonstrates the UAE investment firm’s commitment to “supporting and strengthening regional AI connectivity and other data center operations.”
Under the arrangement, Vertical Data will bring its infrastructure solutions, including Nvidia GPUs, to data centers and GPU-powered businesses in the Middle East and North Africa region.
