Shiba Inu Lead Developer Celebrates This Shib Milestone
Shiba Inu’s L2 blockchain surpasses 150 million transactions, stirring a reaction from SHIB lead developer Shytoshi Kusama.
Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of Shiba Inu, has taken to X to celebrate a major feat achieved by Shibarium, the cryptocurrency’s Layer-2 blockchain.
Kusama Reacts as Shibarium Crosses 150M Transactions
Following the recent widespread adoption of Shibarium, the L2 network finally surpassed the 150M transaction mark. A host of Shiba Inu enthusiasts shared the development on X, including a Japanese SHIB holder @doubutunante.
In a tweet yesterday, @doubutunante noted in Japanese that Shibarium’s total transactions have exceeded 150 million. The tweet stirred a reaction from Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, who also tweeted in Japanese, expressing his love for the SHIB community in Japan.

Shibarium Sees Over 1M Transactions in Hours
According to screenshots attached to the tweet, Shibarium’s total transaction stood at 153,207,244 (153.207 million) 11 hours ago. Interestingly, the figure has surged to a staggering 154,529,891 (154.52 million). This suggests that Shibarium has recorded over 1.3 million transactions within a few hours.
The massive spike in Shibarium’s total transactions has remained a mystery to many crypto enthusiasts, given that the figure stood below 35 million a fortnight ago.
With the daily transaction count maintaining a consistent level of over 7M, except on a few occasions where it plunged to 6M, the total transaction volume has spiked to over 154M.
Multiple factors, including active development and SRC-20 minting activities, can be attributed to the tremendous surge in Shibarium’s total transactions.
Shibarium Records Massive Success in Four Months
It is worth noting that Shibarium achieved the jaw-dropping feat in less than four months after its mainnet launch. Despite experiencing a technical issue that lingered for over two weeks, Shibarium has been able to surpass the 150M transaction mark in less than four months.
Aside from the massive spike in Shibarium’s total transactions, the network has also experienced growth in different aspects.
Since its launch, over 1.31 million addresses have interacted with the network. In addition, the number of blocks minted has surpassed 2.2 million.
Shiba Inu Appreciates SHIB Holders’ Support
Notably, Shibarium could not have achieved this feat without the support of the SHIB Army. Members of the SHIB Army have been supportive of the blockchain on several occasions, including when it encountered a technical glitch.
In appreciation of the community’s support, Shiba Inu held a Shibarium Christmas Giveaway Party. The event saw the team gift enthusiasts 20M SHIB tokens, and 20 customized Shiba Inu and Bad Idea-themed Tangem hardware wallets. The giveaway event was held yesterday during an X Spaces.
