Shiba Inu Lead Responds to the Israel-Palestine Conflict With Calls for Peace

Amid the escalating Israel-Palestine conflict, Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has stepped into the global discussion stage with a heartfelt plea for peace.

In a thread on X, Kusama expressed gratitude for the concerns about his safety and the well-being of his family and the Shiba Inu team. He acknowledged that amid the Israel-Palestine conflict, his thoughts turned to the latest violence.

A response to recent events:

A Bark of Peace on Deaf Ears; (A Thread)

I’d like to first thank you for the warm greetings and questions of my safety. I am well, and from what I can tell, my small family, extended family, and frens in our decentralized team are well. 1/x

He pointed out the irony that two groups, claiming devotion to the same divine power, found themselves locked in a cycle of hatred. The tragic loss of innocent lives, whether in the spotlight or in private, raises questions about humanity’s shared destiny.

Kusama’s reflection on these matters led him to consider the divine and its role in the conflict. He noted that in the face of such turmoil, some seemed marked for unique destinies. However, others received mercy before the storm. There were also those with hardened hearts.

Yet, a small group remained untagged, sitting on the fence. Kusama reminded this group that every action and intention has consequences akin to karma. He stressed the importance of recognizing the gravity of these revelations in everyday life.

Kusama pledged to play his part in a larger design orchestrated by what he called the “true Supreme.” He extended his wish for peace to the entire planet, hoping for positive change and unity.

The Israel-Palestine Conflict

Kusama’s call for peace comes on the back of the latest developments in the long-standing conflict between Israel and Palestine. On Oct. 6, Hamas launched an unexpected attack on Israel. This attack marked Hamas’s most extensive and coordinated action since the 2021 conflict.

Israel responded swiftly with airstrikes on Gaza, resulting in casualties among Hamas militants and innocent civilians. The conflict has continued for several days, with both sides engaged in intense fighting.

As of Oct. 9, the death toll from the conflict exceeded 700, with the majority of casualties occurring in Gaza. The United Nations estimated that over 100,000 people had been displaced from their homes in Gaza.

Concerns have emerged about a potential ground invasion by Israel into Gaza, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not ruled out this option. Such an invasion would likely increase casualties for Gaza’s civilian population.

Notably, the Shiba Inu community speculates that Shytoshi Kusama could be in Israel, leading to several members asking about his well-being. Recall that Kusama confirmed in June that he was born a Jew.

Kusama’s latest calls for peace echo similar sentiments among some global leaders such as Volker Türk, UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights, and Russia’s foreign ministry.
