Shiba Inu Team Announces Date for Shiba Eternity Shibarium-Based Beta Testing
The Shiba Inu ecosystem Games team has announced a timeline for the closed beta testing of the card game Shiba Eternity within Shibarium.
The team revealed that the closed beta testing for Shiba Eternity within the Shibarium layer-2 scaling solution will commence in the third quarter of 2024. The closed beta testing will test run the features of the game in integration with Shibarium before opening up the beta testing for the public.
This update, disclosed by the team in an interview with The Shib Daily, marks a pivotal moment for the ecosystem, as it ventures further into the Web3 gaming space.

Notably, the GameFi section of the DeFi space has continued to grow despite persistent turbulence. CoinGecko noted in a report last November that 2,127 out of 2,817 games in the Web3 industry have failed since 2018. This indicates a discouraging failure rate of 75.5%.
Despite this bearish stat, data sourced by CoinGecko shows that as of March 2024, the market cap of the GameFi sector had surged above $30 billion. Some experts attribute the high failure rate to a focus on finance rather than player engagement. Shiba Eternity, which already commands considerable interest, improves on this metric.
Shiba Eternity, first launched in October 2022, quickly gained popularity due to its strategic gameplay. With the upcoming Web3 transition, the game is set to provide an even more engaging experience. The Games team has worked to integrate Shiba Eternity with Shibarium.
Shiba Eternity Continuous Development
The latest disclosure comes a few weeks after the team released an update on the project. The update, called Balancing Act, saw the release of v.1.2.8, which introduced a “balancing” effect to the powers of Boshi. In April, the Games team released the project’s initial internal build as the community anticipated the Shibarium integration.
The integration with Shibarium will bring several innovative features to the table. Players will gain true ownership of their in-game assets. This could foster a player-driven economy and introduce governance features for the community. The integration will expose the potential benefits that Shibarium can offer to players and developers.
Previously, the Shiba Inu ecosystem lead developer Shytoshi Kusama had hinted at the possibility of Shiba Eternity being adapted for Shibarium. He stressed that the integration would introduce decentralized elements to the game and also allow it to remain independent within the ecosystem.
Additionally, revenue from in-app purchases is planned to support the burning of SHIB and LEASH tokens, contributing to the broader economic strategy of the Shiba Inu project.
This Web3 adaptation of Shiba Eternity is in alignment with the long-term vision of the Shiba Inu team. The ecosystem team will look to leverage Shibarium’s high scalability and low transaction costs to ensure a smooth and seamless gaming experience.
